PowerSizing is built so you can use the calculators without creating an account or handing over personal information. Here's a straightforward account of what does get collected and why.
Analytics
PowerSizing uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how people use the site — which pages get traffic, how long sessions last, what devices people use, and broad geographic distribution. This helps prioritize which calculators to improve and where the site is slow or confusing.
Analytics data is collected at the aggregate level. It may include your browser type, operating system, screen size, referring URL, pages visited, and approximate location (typically city or region). It does not include your name, email address, or the specific inputs you type into a calculator. No account is required.
Cookies and consent
Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode v2, and how it behaves depends on where you are:
- Outside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland: analytics is enabled by default. Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies —
_gaand_ga_<id>— used to count returning visitors. If you choose Reject in the cookie banner, those cookies are removed and analytics is turned off for future visits. - Inside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland: no analytics cookies are set unless you click Accept. Until then, Google Analytics uses cookieless Consent Mode measurement, which sends anonymous, aggregated pings without storing anything on your device.
Advertising and ad-personalization signals stay disabled in every region until you explicitly choose Accept all. Your choice is remembered in a site_consent cookie so the banner does not reappear on every visit. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Calculator inputs
Numbers you enter into the calculators — daily kWh usage, backup hours, system voltage, and so on — are processed locally in your browser to compute a result. PowerSizing does not transmit those inputs to a server or store them. Nothing you type into a calculator is associated with your identity or retained after you leave the page.
Advertising
Some pages on PowerSizing may display third-party advertisements. Ad scripts and ad cookies load only after you explicitly choose Accept all in the cookie banner — in every region, including outside the EEA. Until then, no advertising scripts load and no advertising cookies are set. Ad networks may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your browsing behavior across sites; those mechanisms are governed by the ad network's own privacy policies and, where applicable, your browser's opt-out tools.
If you use a browser extension that blocks ads or tracking, it will generally work fine on this site.
Affiliate links
Some pages include affiliate links to products or retailers. Clicking those links may allow the retailer to set a cookie that associates a subsequent purchase with PowerSizing. PowerSizing receives a small commission from qualifying purchases. No personal information is passed through these links beyond what the retailer's own site collects when you visit.
Email contact
If you email contact@powersizing.com, your email address and message content are retained so we can respond and keep a record of the conversation. That information is not shared with third parties or used for marketing.
Third-party links
PowerSizing links to external sites — installers, manufacturers, code resources, and so on. Once you leave powersizing.com, the privacy practices of the destination site apply and are outside our control. We don't vet every third-party site's policy, so check before sharing information on external sites.
Children
PowerSizing is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Policy updates
This policy may change as the site adds features or changes third-party services. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any material changes. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
